Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Game Programmer to join our remote development team. Remote work means we are looking for a candidate that is self-motivated, professional, and able to work autonomously.

You will be supporting the development of Sovereign Syndicate, a story-driven isometric RPG, prototyping new game systems and bringing existing systems to a high level of polish. As part of a small team, you will need to effectively demonstrate collaboration, open and honest communication, careful analysis, and creative problem-solving.


  • Design, implement, and test game systems and architecture appropriate for an isometric RPG and in accordance with the game design document, including but not limited to:
    • Dialogue management system
    • UI
    • Pathfinding
    • Event triggers
    • Visual effects and audio
    • Physics systems
  • Deliver high quality, efficient, and well-structured code with accompanying documentation.
  • Create and maintain tools to streamline content creation and improve workflow.
  • Provide support for designers, artists, and other team members involved in the development of the product.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years with C# and Unity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent understanding of software engineering principles and problem-solving techniques.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to complete tasks on time.
  • Highly motivated, takes initiative.

This is a fully remote work opportunity, but preference will be given to candidates living in Canada.
